2nd International Meeting of University Theatre

The  2nd International Meeting of University Theatre in Olympia was held from July 27 to August 3, 2002. Events took place at the Drouva Forest theatre in Ancient Olympia, as well as in the municipalities of Andritsaina, Foloi, Skilounta and Kastro-Killini.

The Meeting included film screenings of theatrical interest, performances by university companies from Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Netherlands and Greece, as well as theatre workshops. The second part of an international conference on the topic, “Ancient Drama in Modern Theatre,” also took place, featuring prominent university scholars from the Czech Republic, Poland, France, Cyprus and Greece.

They feature two lectures given by the prominent Greek scholar, Bernard Knox, with the participation of the Stanford Shakespearean Festival Company of Canada).
